The kombucha mushroom , also known as a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast), is the heart of every kombucha production. Our SCOBYs are of the highest quality and ready to help you make your own kombucha. Each piece of SCOBY comes from our own mother culture, from which we make our FIRST8 kombucha drinks. Since we cut them out, they are usually square. When you make your own kombucha with our tea mushroom, a new kombucha mushroom forms on the surface of your container and is then round.
